Naming ceremonies are a really lovely way to celebrate the arrival of a little one — to their family, their community and the wider world. A Humanist naming ceremony creates a relaxed, joyful space to welcome your child, and share your hopes for their future, in a way that reflects your values and beliefs.
Above all, a naming ceremony is an expression of joy. Together we’ll craft a warm, personal event that formally welcomes your child into their family and community. You can use your own words to shape the ceremony, or base it on a comprehensive template I provide. My role is to guide you through the options and help you choose elements that feel authentic to you.

These ceremonies are usually held at home, or in a local hotel or GAA club. They typically last around 15 minutes, long enough to be meaningful, while keeping little ones (and their attention spans) in mind. I’ll talk you through the flow so everything feels calm, simple and well organised.
As with all my ceremonies, you’ll be involved in every aspect of the process. I’ll listen to what matters most to you, provide clear choices, and shape the ceremony so it runs smoothly on the day. Whether you prefer something intimate and simple or a larger celebration with family and friends, the tone is always warm, inclusive and personal.
